Hey! I'm Adrian, 26, and I live in the UK. I'm a semi-pro SFFH writer; i.e. I've sold a couple of short stories to a few small magazines and am very much a wee ickle baby, ha.

I also am fannish, with an emphasis on the -ish; I write a lot of fanfic, but wouldn't really describe myself as "involved" in fandom outside of reblogging pretty art.

About My Journal: As you can see by my public posts, I talk about music/writing/videogames/books. Writing is basically 70% of my life :'D (and I work full time).
My access-only posts do involve some discussion of writing, but are mainly just introspective journal entries for my own sake. I generally work on an access-for-access basis, but I'm also 100% down to subscribe to someone without giving or getting access in return.

What I Write: Queer sci-fi and horror! I'm currently floating about a novel idea about eldritch space sci-fi horror--with lesbians. Fanfic-wise, I ship many things, but I'm mainly interested in writing stuff that's plot-heavy.

What I Read: Basically anything! Big bias towards SFFH, for obvious reasons, as well as LGBT+ fiction--but I'm also down to read YA, poetry, literary fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction... I've never read a screenplay before? But that doesn't mean I wouldn't, just that I haven't. I'm not a smut writer but I have huge admiration for smut writers. I like F/M, F/F, and M/M pairings equally. I'm totally fine with kink and dead dove/idk what the kids are calling it these days; I just ask that the latter be tagged/under a cut so I can avoid it if required.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Yes! I studied English and creative writing at uni, so am fairly versed in critiquing. I do, however, operate generally on a crit-for-crit basis and also probably wouldn't crit something I don't have good understanding of (e.g. poetry, not because I think it's bad, but because I'm nowhere near a poet).

To be entirely honest, I'm just looking for other writers to hang out with! Even if you write something in a genre I don't or write fic in a fandom I'm not in, that doesn't matter; I just miss being around other writers.

Feel free to comment here or subscribe if you think we'd be a good fit. :-)

hello!

About Me: historian & archivist stuck in a dead-end job (for the time being) so i like to do what i can to keep my wits sharp, and that includes writing. i've been writing since i was in elementary school (shitty pokemon fanfiction on my district-provided emate during class, lol) and look forward to developing further while also working to rediscover the creative joy and freedom of those days.

About My Journal: i try to post approximately once a week or every two weeks. mostly media discussion, fannish or otherwise, with a smattering of semi-personal talk. at the moment i do not have any friends-only entries. i do have a community for only posting creative work, if you'd rather follow [community profile] angelfeast, but it's updated sporadically.

What I Write: fanfiction and original fiction both. i think both can be of equal artistic merit and i am not fond of people who devalue fanfiction as somehow automatically less creative.
i dabble in poetry from time to time but my focus is on prose. my usual approach could probably be described as more on the "literary" side of things, since my emphasis tends to be on characters' interiority, though i can and do write silly stories and kinky porn uwu

What I Don't Write: nonfiction (unless it's academic research)

What I Read: i can enjoy just about any genre provided the prose and characters appeal to me. highbrow, lowbrow, shameless porn, it's all good. i do have a strong preference for trans/queer characters.

What I Don't Read: true crime is really my only hard line. i don't seek out non-porn m/f or f/f stuff on my own, though i won't recoil if asked to read it as long as it doesn't have a squick of mine. i enjoy reading nonfiction in general but if it's not historical then it needs to be recommended to me.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: for sure! i don't mind reading for spelling/grammar or providing feedback, though i can't promise a quick turnaround since i do work full-time. nothing wildly over 10k, please. i may be a fast reader but i'm not that fast, lol.

Name: V.

Age: 23

Location: USA (east)

About Me: I like writing in plain text editors and using command-line style checkers that gently insult me every time I make my characters swear.

About My Journal: I post about painters and music for the most part. More personal posts about the boring minutiae of my life are access-locked. In the near future, I will hopefully finish writing a Pokemon fanfiction and post it to my journal as well.

What I Write: Academic journal articles (research methodology, statistics), scripts in a troublesome macro language, and Pokemon fanfiction (horror, humor, gen, shipping)

What I Don't Write: Unfortunately, I am not very good at writing poetry for now. I also have no plans to write "original fiction" in the near future. There are a number of things that I'm not good at writing for the time being (visceral action scenes, detailed descriptions of sex acts) but I may end up writing them in the future when I feel more comfortable with my skill level so I won't count them out.

What I Read: I like to read diverse genres of work, but I like low-romance gen fanfiction the most. When reading stories with romantic pairings, I am omnivorous and don't discriminate between slash, femslash, or het. Fandom-wise, I usually tend to read Harry Potter, Detroit: Become Human, and Pokemon fanfiction. I also enjoy reading medical reference texts, ghost stories, and historical records of vampire myths.

What I Don't Read: I don't like to read very long fluffy works or stories that are entirely focused on sex acts/kinks. I have no problem reading stories where characters are racist/homophobic/sexist/etc. but do not enjoy stories where the narrative uncritically promotes prejudice.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: I will not edit anything academic because I already have enough of that in my life... If it's a fanfiction for something I'm familiar with, I can edit and provide commentary. If I'm unfamiliar with the source material or if it's not a fanwork, I can edit for grammar and spelling and that sort of thing.

I am fairly comfortable with academic-flavored writing, but still feel new to writing fiction. If anyone has any tips or links to writing advice, I'd really appreciate it!

Introduction

Hey there! I’m a fantasy author and illustrator. Whether you’re here for advice posts, stories, illustrations, or all three, I’m happy to have you around!

Female. Not straight. Over 18. She/her pronouns, please. My favourite stories are Red Sister by Mark Lawrence, Brave Story by Miyuki Miyabe, and The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.

What I Post

If you like magical lesbian cat-elves, you've come to the right place! I tend to write Dark, High Fantasy with female protagonists, many of whom are LGBT+. All of my works, collectively referred to as The Chroma Books, are set in my original fantasy universe The Chromaverse.

In terms of writing advice, my goal is to decode common sayings and examine many more topics ranging from storycraft to characters to worldbuilding with logic. Writing—and writing well—is already difficult. It doesn't have to be mystifying. I can't write for you, but I can explain my understanding of craft basics in a clear, meaningful way.

Posting Schedule

* Tips and Tricks Tuesdays (Writing From The Heart)

* Flash Fiction Fridays (Thirty Three Tales of War)

* Sunday Book Review (Wattpad Only)

What I Do Not Post

Fanfiction or anything meant to be erotic. I pretty much stick to high and/or dark fantasy in both reading and writing.

Am I Available For Editing?

I have toyed with the idea of editing on the side before. Since I have no professional experience yet (but plenty of the casual variety), I've got a special tier on my Patreon for 5000 words at a rate of half a cent per word.

Name: Kirasha or JL
Age: 35+

About Me: I hate "about me" things. lol I never know what to write. I'm heading into what society would call middle age and I call "Holy Cow! I made it!" But, I neither look, nor act like it. I'm still an eclectic geek and nerd at heart and fly those banners proudly. I love all things papercrafting and mixed media art. I have a love affair with words, pens, and notebooks. My reputation at the office is one of pure organization, although you'd never know it to look at my house.

About My Journal: I am a casual journaler and commenter. I post when I have the time and inclination. Generally, if I don't feel I have something to add to a conversation other than "me too!", I won't comment. (The exception being hugs when needed.) My journal here is mostly for fannish things and personal things. Topics can everywhere from Marvel to planners to privacy/security to nature-based faiths to what my Second Life avatar is wearing this week.

What I Write: For a living, I write technical documentation and support content. For fun, I write fiction, both fan and original, mostly in some sub-genre of speculative fiction or romance or both.

What I Don't Write: Pregnancy stories, teenage main characters, a variety of hardcore kinks, PWP

What I Read: If it has words, I'll generally give it a shot. But, I tend to read what I write most often: science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, romance, various non-fiction works depending on what I'm researching at the moment. I do a lot of random/just because research. So, the topics really can run the gamut.

What I Don't Read: Badly out of character fanfiction or any of the subjects I don't write.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: I do this as part of my job, actually, as well as occasionally beta-reading for fests.

About Me: I'm really looking to make new friends on Dreamwidth! My own journal doesn't have much aside from self-indulgent things, and I can be terribly shy, but I'm very enthusiastic about the UI on Dreamwidth so I want more friends here. At the moment I'm enthusiastic about a movie which had an active fandom three years ago (welp), I'm very opinionated though I'm trying to be less abrasive about it, and sometimes I also webdesign but with questionable results.

About My Journal: It's mostly for fandom-related things that aren't fics, recs, or for others. The most interesting thing on it is probably my all time favorites rec list. I do have a Dreamwidth for actual journaling, but I keep up with my feed here and I want to spice up my flist.

What I Write: Fiction, romance, fanfiction of course. I really like mixing drama and humor; sometimes there's angst or friendship. I'm not very good at worldbuilding/sci-fi type things though, mostly because I don't think I have the practiced imagination for it.

What I Don't Write: I abide by the philosophy that I should try everything at least once. So so far I have not tried supernatural type stories or horror stories, although I definitely hope to one day.

What I Read: Everything! Well, am willing to, anyway. What I like to read is fantasy, YA, romance (LGBT especially), mystery, and of course comedy again.

What I Don't Read: Again, I don't think I really have the imagination for sci-fi. Although I do like Star Wars. But I haven't tried it very much, so if anyone has recs to get a noob like me into the genre...

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Yes, I can. I love editing.

Oh, and a note to the mods: the form code for this has a stray "</textbox" within the code without a closing bracket.

About Me: What about me? 25 year old queer cyber-witch, re-immersing herself in journaling as a practice and still piecing together my online writing community. I was on LJ as a young adult and I miss the vibe. I have deceptively little chill.

About My Journal: Mostly personal, but also some writing, and some talking about writing and books and TV. My day job in tech support and small electronics repair takes up a lot of my energy, and I got a few irons in the fire.

What I Write: Personal essays, poetry, genre fiction (read: fantasy, I guess!).

What I Want to Write: Romance, creative non-fiction, comics.

What I Read: Essays, poetry (I get like 10 poem-of-the-day emails), literally any fiction story with lesbians, a gaggle of web and print comics, newsletters about the future.

What I Want To Read: Better fiction stories with lesbians, and more nonfiction. I'm always down for good sci-fi and fantasy, and I have a soft spot for YA, as I suspect many folks do.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: I'd love to.

what I write: (in no particular order): original (urban fantasy, magical realism, shoddily researched historical fiction, worldhopping/multiverses), fanfic (including, but not limited to, Harry Potter and TSUBASA: RESERvoir CHRoNiCLE) & you can expect to find f/f, some m/m, kidfic, and schmoopy romance mixed into all of the above, most of it quite short (but I'm working on that)

what I don't write: generally (scary things (e.g., horror or apocalyptic), sexy things)

what I read: fanfic for my fandoms/pairings (see profile(s)), urban fantasy & magical realism, short fic (books)

About My Journal: Lots of rambling, lots of sadness and misery, lots of crazy, social justice rants, ranting in general, all the grey, basically a lot of personal posts about all kinds of things going on in my chaotic life.

What I Write: poetry, memoir, original fic

What I Don't Write: horror, comedy, fanfic (usually)

What I Read: YA lit, children's lit, original fic, fanfic depending on the fandom, erotica, porn, most genres really, nonfiction, blogs and journals, memoir

What I Don't Read: horror (usually), pure comedy (usually)

About Me: Aspiring indie author. Raised in lower Delaware (if you don't know where that is, don't worry, most people don't) and currently living in Pennsylvania with my husband. I have a bachelors degree in history (my thesis was on the trial of the Lincoln assassination conspirators). I'm a little a eccentric, I suppose. My tastes are diverse. I collect postcards, lawn gnomes and fridge magnets. Whenever I travel I take my gnome, Hamish, with me. I love all kinds of genres of music (from swing to heavy metal), TV (Are You Being Served? to Castle), movies (Hitchcock's silent films to Joss Whedon's Avengers) and books (see below). I don't like coffee and prefer tea. I'm a Hufflepuff (we're great finders).

I'm looking for friends who are also writers and share the same goals, interests or genres as me.

About My Journal: I just started on my journal so it looks a little barren right now. As the weeks go now it will look less lonely. I plan to update with my writing stuff.

What I Write: Currently, I am working on a couple memoirs, flash fiction, and a few short stories that are set in modern day. I would love to write historical fiction, magical realism, alternative history or chaos theory in the future.

What I Don't Write: At the moment... erotica, mystery, thriller, children's and poetry. But things might change. I'm open to what genres I write.

What I Read: A lot of things! Media tie-in novels (think Doctor Who, Torchwood, etc), Biographies/Autobiographies/Memoirs, Classics, Humor, Children's, Young Adult, . Occasionally I will read Chick-Lit thought it is not my favorite. Some of my favorite authors are L. Frank Baum, Poppy Z. Brite (or Billy Martin), Agatha Christie, and Christopher Moore.

What I Don't Read: Things like Fifty Shades of Gray. It annoys me because the author is making money from fanfiction, and the one of the points of fanfitcion is not to make a profit from your work. Books that just right out lie about history but say that it's the truth like Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy both by Martin Dugard and Bill O'Reilly.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Yes, but please know that I am not a professional. I am also willing to just look over your work to tell you how it is (if it good or if it sucks).

I'm new to DW but I'm an old school LJ girl, so hopefully I don't mess this up too much.

Age: 30

Location: Seattle, WA

About Me: I'm an aspiring author (I bet most people here are, yeah?) I love cheese, tea, I watch far too much television, and I have two cats. I'm a huge nerd.

About My Journal: I just started it but I suspect it will be more about my writing (word counts, prompt challenges, memes) than personal stuff, although I'm an open book and I can never help rambling about my personal life so I'm sure that will be there too, with a smattering of fangirling over TV/books/etc.

What I Write: Mostly YA Urban Fantasy, although I'm always trying new things. The bulk of my work is YA though.

What I Don't Write: Well, I don't want to say I'll never write it, but I don't usually write contemporary fiction. Reality is all right but I love magic, demons, vampires, other worlds, and super powers.

What I Read: I'll give anything a shot. I tend to love fast-paced UF like October Daye and Harry Dresden. I'm usually partial sarcastic guys, unique voices, and again, magic and fantastic elements. But I read far more contemporary than I write.

What I Don't Read: I'll read paranormal romance and I like things with romantic elements, but I have little interest in straight-up romance. Nothing against it, it's just not my cup of tea. I also don't usually love historical fiction, especially WWI&WWII era stuff.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: I can beta! I'm happy to beta read things for people. I'm not so awesome at line-editing but I'm happy to do larger-scale editing suggestions and such. :)

What I Don't Write: Not too interested in fan-fiction...

What I Don't Write: I don't write incest of any kind, humiliation or animal cruelty.

What I Read: It depends of my mood because I will try almost anything if it grabs my eye. Right now, I seem to be reading a lot of revisionist history fiction, paranormal fiction, re-written fairy tales and histories.

What I Don't Read: Incest, cruelties, true crime novels.

About Me: Fan fiction writer finally taking the dive into original fiction. Librarian by day :)

About My Journal: Pretty new, as I've just gotten back into journaling, mainly for the purpose of getting my creative butt in gear – there are a lot of interesting writing prompts comms around here, so I'd like to take full advantage. That, and to re-connect with a few online buddies from my heavy LJ/IJ-ing days. I'd really like to get to know some new write-y people, as well :)

What I Write: So far? Yaoi fan fiction. What I'm going to write – Pagan gay romance. Not sure of the how and what of the Pagan part, but I'll figure it out...

What I Don't Write: Scifi, mysteries (I LOVE mysteries, but not sure if I could write them).

What I Read: Right now, I'm listening to the audiobook version of Lolita, read by Jeremy Irons.

Love gothic romance/mystery/suspense novels from the 60s and 70s (more fun than today's popular fiction, IMO). Also classic horror like HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe. Also love Anton Chekhov, L.M. Montgomery, Hans Christian Andersen, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (Betty Smith's other novels are on my to-read list).

Nonfiction – mythology, psychology (particularly Jungian – really, really fascinating), folk and fairy tales, and 'writing' books, especially Brenda Ueland, Elizabeth Berg, and Julia Cameron. And diaries (so far, have read Alice James, Evelyn Scott, and Alexandra Johnson's fantastic book, The Hidden Writer: Diaries and the Creative Life).

What I Don't Read: Not much of a sci-fi fan outside of Star Wars movies – and I haven't read those novels, either :p Current popular fiction authors. Bleah. It's rare that I find one I really like. Elizabeth Berg is probably the only one – I love her short stories!

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Am finishing up doing that just now, first editing job ever. A lot of work, but fortunately, no set deadline, so very low-pressure. And I'm almost done (yay!)

Nice to meet you!

Age: 19
Location: A big country in South America.
About Me: Writer; feminist; social justice; music, internet, post-it notes and research addict; mild-OCD when it comes to organization; moderate ADHD; major depressive disorder; bookworm; internet; curious; critical thinker; outspoken.
About My Journal: It is a mix of things I like, mostly.

Public entries are either about writing in general—no big details on my original stuff—; about my ideas; about things I've read or seen; about things that interest me, such as technology, music, books, trips, writing, and writing meta; about things I see around DreamWidth.

I have no intention to make it a log of my personal life—which is what my filtered and access-locked entries are for.

Things that are locked:
·   Original writing — discussion, outlines, planning, general whining.
·   My daily life — what I'm up to on a personal level.

If we add each other, you will have access to both sides of my access list only, locked entries. If you don't want to read about my daily life, let me know and I can set up a writing-only filter.

What I Write: Romance. And poetry.
But I am open and willing to try anything at least once.
What I Don't Write: Nonfiction. I'm open to try just about any genre, as long as it is fiction.
What I Read: Everything. I'm especially fond of nice new adult—as in, university setting, etc—novels, fantasy series, historic books, and romance, be it young adult or adult-only. And fan fiction, I read some of it sometimes!
What I Don't Read: Um, there is nothing I wouldn't give at least a try, I guess.
Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: As English isn't my native language, I might not be comfortable being the sole editor for a writer's work in the grammar and spelling front, but I could definitely edit by myself if you want me to focus on characterization, pace, themes, tone, plot, and anything else in the same group.

I am mostly looking for writers to populate my circle, I feel lonely on my corner of the internet. :(

I'd like to have some active folks around, to comment on my entries, to help me in writerly matters, to chat about ideas, plots, characters. I'm looking for people who can relate to my writerly ways, who could maybe do some hand-holding. I would, of course, do the same—I'm online everyday, I try my best to comment at least in every other entry, I love discussing writing-related matters and am always, always up for a chat.

If I sound like someone you would like to have around, drop me a comment!

About Me: I'm an only child, working in a building consultancy firm as an Office Manager. But, when the chance presents itself, I tend to be writing or reading. I am a terrible procrastinator though and really need a good kick up the backside frequently to motivate myself!

About My Journal: I am brand new to DW so there is literally nothing there at the moment. I will probably be posting responses to my prompt calendar that I made (maybe posting the daily prompts themselves if I get people looking at them) and random posts about the book I am writing at the moment.

What I Write: I tend to lean towards fantasy and sci-fi but mingled in with all sorts of other genres. The prompts I do range through pretty much everything. I've also written a fair amount of slash fanfiction but I probably won't be bringing that over to here.

What I Don't Write: I write romantic strands in stories but I generally don't do strict romance. I also don't write crime/mystery because I honestly don't think I have the smarts to keep all the threads together and give the reader a decent pay-off!

What I Read: Fantasy, sci-fi, horror, adventure, biographies...I'm pretty lenient with my reading genres, really. So long as it has interesting characters, I'll give it a read.

What I Don't Read: Not fussed on romances or war stories. I like crime stories but not so much when they are very procedural based.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: If it was reciprocated then sure. But I have to admit that my grammar isn't 100% (I am a comma whore, I need to curb my enthusiasm for them!)

About Me:

I've actually just finished law school at the University of British Columbia, passed the bar, and will be sworn in as a lawyer officially in about a month and a half.

So clearly what I need to do now, is kick off my writing career. Because obviously I don't have enough to do.

So during the day, I work for my mother as a family law lawyer, mostly working with victims of domestic violence, drug addicts, and other people with low incomes. We do custody/access/divorce cases as well as help people who for whatever reason have had their children taken into foster care by the government.

By night, I fly about the city in my batsuit and--

Um.

Well, actually by night I'm a huge video game and anime geek, and I spend hours and hours writing fantasy and science fiction novels, and also occasionally pretending to be an alien computer nerd in certain online roleplaying games.

About My Journal:

My writing journal - this one - is actually a reboot of a wordpress blog I started about a year ago. The wordpress blog didn't really work out for me because of the format and the volume of spam, so I've brought all the posts over here for a fresh start.

I do reviews of podcasts and audiobooks I've listened to, and books I've read. I also blog about my writing process and about various other topics that make me want to ramble incessantly in some fashion that might possibly assist someone else. Occasionally, I might write about work.

What I Write:

I write a variety of fantasy and science fiction. Currently I'm at the cusp of finishing a final draft edit of a book called The Sleeping Death where a journalist falls in love with Death and winds up helping her fight evil mages and the personification of Order to free the world - and War - from their tyrannical rule.

I've also written the first draft of a book called OtherWhere, which is about an evil MMORPG.

I'm in the midst of a book tentatively called The Dreaming where a lawyer gets transported into a strange, magical world every time he falls asleep...and then gets stuck there, causing havoc to his career and marriage.

I'm also prodding at ideas for novels ranging from a steampunk alternate history set in ancient Japan, to a series about a human getting sent to an alien flight school in space and getting attacked by terrorists - sort of a Harry Potter/Enders Game mashup with tentacles and teenage romantic angst.

Most of my books are slashy and don't necessarily perfectly fit either the fantasy or the science fiction mould. I tend to write things that excite me, and I hope they excite other people, too.

What I Don't Write:

I'm not sure how to answer this question. I don't write historical novels (except I might in the case of that Japanese steampunk idea), because I don't know enough about history. I don't think anything I've written would count as outright horror or a thriller, though I enjoy reading both genres, and I hope that bits of my books are either horrible (in the good way!) and/or thrilling.

I don't write literary fiction or poetry. I don't tend to read either of those genres either.

What I Read:

I'm in the midst of working my way through Terry Pratchett's collected works, in order. I love epic fantasy, urban fantasy, any other kind of fantasy, science fiction, horror, thrillers, and mysteries. My most recent new loves are Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, and Naomi Novik. If you haven't heard of any of them, go forth and google, then read. They're fantastic.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work:

Another tricky question! I don't have any editing credentials and I'm not yet making money with my work. I also have a lot on my plate.

That being said, I'd be happy to exchange with someone, in some kind of arrangement where we each read the other's book and give feedback. Or if you want to pay me, I'd be more than willing to devote many hours to polishing your work.

About Me: I love writing. It gives me something productive to do. I can be a procrastinator, opting to write a story rather than do my homework. I'm currently in college and am hoping to become a Spanish teacher with an English minor. English and Spanish are favorite subjects, and I hope to one day teach a creative writing class.

About My Journal:

[personal profile] darkspirited1  is my personal journal devoted to all things I care to share. It's actually a mirror account to an LJ under the same name. It has my reflections on NaNoWriMo, my day to day stuff like lists of things to do, and whatever else I cared to write since 2003. There are stories and poems in there (all friend locked). I also talk about my ongoing project to complete a novel series I'm working on. I also talk about the writing process and the ups and downs to it for me. Basically, I talk about anything and everything.

I use filters on my journal as well so if you want to cut out the daily life ramblings you can opt out.

What I Write: Fiction -- fantasy usually and the odd bit of poetry or fan fiction (and I mean odd, seldom bit). It has been several years since I last attempted to write poetry. FanFiction is there for when I'm stuck and want to write but have nothing else to write about. It's always Lion King too. I say I'm going to try posting something every month at the very least, though I haven't written anything but my major project.

What I Don’t Write: Crime or anything with complex twisty plots that depend upon me being entirely accurate. I am very rarely accurate at anything! I also don't write anything that nonfiction usually since there's this whole "I need to make this accurate and more realistic" aspect to it.

What I Read:
Classics, Fantasy, um ... I'm really bad at classifying genres. Really I'll read anything that sounds appealing or was recommended to me by a friend. There's a list at darkspirited1 here that tells you of some random books I've read that I could recall in the 15 minutes I took to make it.

What I Don’t Read:
I do not read nonfiction very often. I also don't read erotica or things with a lot of sex. I'm sorry, but I really just hate it when characters just fall into bed with each other repeatedly just because they can. If it has to do with the plot and there's more to it other than simply falling into bed just to do it, then I'll probably read it if it's there.

Favorite Authors and Books: I hate this question. It's so hard for me to pick a favorite. Some authors I enjoy are: Edgar Allen Poe, RA Salvatore, Mercedes Lackey, Corenalia Funke, Laini Taylor, Robin D. Owens, Kristan Britain and uh ... I can't read any other names off my bookcase so I'll stop there. Really though, there is no favorite. Or rather, it changes often. Again, there's a list at darkspirited1 here that tells you of some random books I've read that I could recall in the 15 minutes I took to make it.

Could I Edit Someone Else’s Work: You are more than welcome to ask me and I'll see if I have the time. If I have the time, I'm always up for reading and critiquing. However, you must bare in mind that I am never going to say your story is perfect. I am never going to tell you "Sounds great, keep it up!" I don't consider that a critique OR an edit. I will provide my honest suggestions and feedback. You then do whatever you want with it, but you agree that you will not be angry with me for what I say. And don't take this as "OMG she's going to rip my story apart and make me feel like trash." I don't aim to do that either. Feel free to ask me for more clarity about this if you are confused.

What I’m Looking For: FRIENDLY PEOPLE! :) Other writers who can inspire me with their success so that I keep reminding myself to forge on and keep trying. People to talk to about writing. I don't know very many writers, but those that I do know are great inspiration. I'd like more of that. :) Basically, I want someone who wants to interact and socialize.

What I’m Not Looking For: I'm not looking for someone to force me to think that their view is the only way. I'm a very open minded person and hope to find more people with that mentality. I expect you to show respect, and I will show you respect as well. I'm easy to get along with though, so I doubt there will be much of an issue. Someone just trying to pad their FList.

I hope to become better acquainted with you. Happy writing! ^_^

About Me: The basics about me are that I'm 21, African American, Female, and the youngest child in both my families. I love a lot of things. I love animals, specially cats. I love music with all my heart and I would love to create it. I love reading and writing. I've been reading since I can remember and I've liked writing. I remember the first story I typed. I was twelve and it badly written smut haha. I've gotten better since then I think though I did have a long hiatus from writing around 2009-2010.

About My Journal: I write about my day to day life and that include writing. I make loot posts which shows various purchases I've made and I just feel the need to squee about. I also like to make graphics and I have other hobbies besides writing

What I Write:

It's hard to put a label on. But I would say historical fiction and young adult right now. I have three stories that I'm working on.
What I Don't Write:

There's nothing that I won't attempt at least once.
What I Read:

Historical fiction/romance, young adult fiction, urban fantasy and I'm venturing into sci-fi
What I Don't Read:

Horror at the moment
Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: It's possible. I'm not as good at spelling and grammar as I used to be when I was in a formal school, but I could give it a go.

About Me: College grad interested in history, world travel, learning about other cultures, reading, writing, and running.

About My Journal: My journal is a conglomeration of my creative writing, history, photographs, and the usual digressions regarding people, places, music, and books. I rarely post about my personal life, except where it intersects with some of my interests.

What I Write: Mostly original fiction, historical fiction, and some creative nonfiction. The closest I come to fanfiction is writing about historical figures in unlikely situations!

What I Don't Write: Fanfiction

What I Read: I will read anything, truly. Re: books, I mainly read biographies, history nonfic, historical fiction, and mystery. I occasionally sneak in romance/erotica under the radar. Re: online, I am pretty open to any genre. In the case of fanfiction, however, I like to be relatively familiar with the fandom.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: I can certainly try!

Super cool idea for a community! I look forward to meeting other writers.
