Name: Steph Shangraw, aka prysmcat

Age: mid-40s

Location: Ontario, Canada

About Me: I've been writing madly for 30 years, always pushing to get better. I have no interest in "getting published" because I'd rather write for the love of it and I know that what I write wouldn't fit in their boxes. That doesn't mean I don't take it seriously. I have four novels on Smashwords and I'm exploring outlets for other work, while hoping to make some writer friends. I have disabling anxiety/depression that keeps me from working, and three rescued cats and a roommate/best friend who keep me going. I'm pansexual, poly, quoiromantic, kinky, and lots of other labels that basically mean that for me, it's all situational and I don't see things in conventional hetero-cis-vanilla terms.

About My Journal: I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to put in the journal itself. With multiple serial stories on the go, I'm actually creating a community for each, which seems the best strategy for the platform. My journal itself will probably have anything else: reflections, real world events, my cats, that kind of thing.

What I Write: Fantasy, of various kinds, both real-world and in my own. I play often with gender and many kinds of sexuality, without making that the entire focus of the story. Some of what I write is erotica with story and characters. Most of it isn't. Either way, I write for adults, not for kids.

What I Don't Write: Fanfiction, horror, anything without a supernatural or otherwise non-real-world element, YA, or pretty much anything other than LGBT+-flavoured fantasy.

What I Read: Mostly fantasy and other speculative fiction, a bit of light whodunnit-type mystery, a bit of historical, some non-fiction.

What I Don't Read: Horror, true crime, psychological thrillers, or anything else that basically involves bad things happening to people for little or no reason with no likely happy ending. If it's going to involve animals being hurt, then it's a triple no.

Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Um... maybe. That depends a lot on what they're writing and what they're looking for, and how I feel about what they've written.
